Why is the rut – resistant agent for road asphalt used in asphalt pavements?

Anti-rutting Additive is a type of asphalt mixture additive composed of various polymer composites. It is added to the asphalt mixture of the pavement, primarily used in the middle and lower layers of the road pavement. (In the pavement structure, the middle layer experiences the greatest degree of rutting deformation, which is due to the high temperature of the middle layer.) It can also be used on the surface of the pavement because of the largest shear stress. It significantly increases the modulus of the asphalt mixture, thereby improving the rutting resistance, high temperature deformation resistance, and fatigue resistance of the asphalt mixture pavement. Additionally, the water stability and low temperature crack resistance of the mixture are also enhanced.

Luxiang high modulus anti-rutting agent LX-01 is a high modulus modifier derived from grafting thermoplastic elastomer onto high-density oxidized polyolefin with a narrow molecular weight distribution. Consequently, the anti-rutting agent exhibits high toughness. It contains aromatic rigid groups that enhance the rigidity of asphalt. Additionally, the anti-rutting agent utilizes a multi-chain polyolefin elastomer as its raw material, which improves the asphalt’s deformation recovery. As a result, Luxiang high modulus anti-rutting agent provides cementing, reinforcement, and deformation resistance effects. It enhances the asphalt mixture’s high-temperature stability, fatigue resistance, water stability, and low-temperature crack resistance through multiple mechanisms, including increased viscosity, reinforcement, filling of the aggregate surface, asphalt modification, and elastic recovery. This agent is suitable for various types of asphalt mixtures and significantly improves their performance.
